What Is Recycled oPP Pellet? PIR Resin from Industrial Film Explained

How oriented polypropylene film waste is processed into transparent PIR pellets — and what manufacturers need to know before sourcing.
Recycled oriented polypropylene (oPP) pellets are produced from oriented polypropylene film waste through mechanical recycling processes. Feedstock source and processing conditions can influence the properties and appearance of the recovered polypropylene material.
Regenport’s oPP PIR pellet is produced from post-industrial oriented polypropylene film waste collected before consumer use. The recovered material is reprocessed into transparent recycled polypropylene pellets for PP compounding, extrusion, injection molding, and film-related applications.

From Oriented Polypropylene Film Waste to PIR Pellets
Post-industrial oPP film waste generated during film converting, printing, and packaging processes is collected and processed through shredding, melt processing, and extrusion operations.
The resulting recycled polypropylene pellet retains a transparent appearance. With an MFI of 5.99 g/10min and a density of 0.9 g/cm³, the material may be evaluated for polypropylene processing applications including extrusion and injection molding, depending on product specifications and processing conditions.
Recycled oPP Pellets for PP Processing Applications
For injection molding and extrusion applications, blending ratio, processing temperature, and production conditions may be reviewed according to target material properties and end-use requirements.
oPP PIR pellets are supplied for manufacturers and compounders evaluating recycled polypropylene materials for PCR and PIR plastic applications.
